Dr. Jennifer Roberts Has Joined Our Practice

Dr. Jennifer Roberts has joined our practice effective August 6, 2007. Dr. Roberts is a native of Vanceburg, Kentucky and a graduate of Lewis County High School. She is a Cum Laude graduate of Morehead State University with a B.S. degree in Biology and a minor in Accounting. She graduated from the Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine in Pikeville, Kentucky, and completed a residency in Ob-Gyn at Marshall University / Cabell Huntington Hospital in Huntington, West Virginia, where she was twice Resident-of-the-Year.

Dr. Roberts is married to Dr. Philip Roberts, a local Family Practice Physician and life-long resident of Southern Ohio.

The Latest in Ultrasound Imaging

Dr.Pettit and Carol Murphy, L.P.N., have completed training on our new 4-D ultrasound machine. This state-of-the-art G.E. Ultrasound produces clear images similar to a photograph. It aslo allows us to see the pelvic organs in3-D. The new machine allows us to determine fetal age, detect fetal abnormalities, evaluate twin pregnancies, detect ovarian or uterine tumors, and evaluate abnormal bleeding. (more info)

Bone Density Assessment Certification

Dr.Pettit has passed the examination as a Certified Clinical Densitometrist. Only 5000 physicials and technologists in the U.S. hold this advanced certification He is able to interpret the bone density studies produced by our new G.E. Progidy machine. These studies are used to diagnose osteoporosis, a serious disease of older women. Medicare recommends that women age 65 and older have a bone density study at least every two years. (more info)
